Four decades of distinguished service in the field of golf were credited to this renowned resident of Locust Valley, N.Y. One of the world’s leading authorities on the Rules of Golf and Executive Director of the United States Golf Association for 34 years until 1969, Joe Dey was universally acclaimed for having established and maintained with vigilance the integrity of the game of golf. His tenure as Commissioner of the Tournament Players Division of the PGA began in 1969 and lasted until he stepped down in 1974.
