Jimmy Dee earned the bulk of his Player of the Year points in local competition. He found victory at the New Jersey Amateur, and was the Low Amateur at the New Jersey Open. At the Met Amateur, he advanced to the round of 16, and at the U.S. Amateur he survived to the second round. Dee also tied for first at the Hochster Memorial, which was shortened due to weather.
