About Jim Albus (1984) – Old Oaks
Jim Albus hooked his shots through, around, and over the trees at Old Oaks, missed five greens and six fairways, and three-putted the last two holes, yet won the Met Open by two strokes. Despite his difficulties, he shot 69 in the final round, and his 210 score for 54 holes made him the only player in the field to equal par. “I didn’t intend to make it that exciting. I could hear the blood flowing,” he said after finishing.
