About David Glenz (1978) – Quaker Ridge

The Met Open was the first major championship to be played at Quaker Ridge since 1936.  The leader after each of the first two rounds was Winged Foot’s Tom Nieporte, who used a three-wood off the tee to avoid the trees.  The final round belonged to Nick Manolios and Winged Foot assistant David Glenz, and was decided in a three-hole aggregate playoff when Manolios drove into the trees on the second hole and took a double bogie.
