About Carlton White (1975) – Metropolis

Carlton White, a 26-year-old assistant professional at Washington Valley, NJ, shot a final round 70 in the rain to pull away from his rivals and win the Met Open by three strokes.  The final round was played in light rain, and that may have helped White pull away from early leader Jack Kiefer, Bill Collins, and Carl Lohren.  White planned to use his purse money to travel to some of the PGA Tour events that fall and the following spring.
