Bob Watson (1958) – Metropolis

Bob Watson took his first job in the Met Area as an assistant to Jackie Burke at Metropolis.  His second-round 64, seven under par, equaled Burke’s record for the course and propelled Watson to a three-stroke victory.  Claude Harmon rallied from six strokes behind with a final-round 68, but couldn’t catch Watson.
