Bill Mehlhorn (1929) – Lido

Bill Mehlhorn and Wiffy Cox were tied after three rounds of a much easier Lido course after Cox shot a course record 67 in the third round.  Mehlhorn responded with a 68 (with a four-under-par front-nine in 33) in the final round to defeat Cox by three strokes.  Cox actually beat Mehlhorn by four strokes on the final day, but was too far behind early to catch up.
