About Bobby Heins (1988) – Baltusrol
Bobby Heins sank birdie putts of 20 and 25 feet on the 16th and 18th holes to snatch victory away from Tom Joyce. Heins’ final round 68 made him the only player in the field to shoot par over the rain-soaked Lower course at Baltusrol. A deluge overnight prompted MGA officials to allow the players to use preferred lies in both of the last two rounds, a first in Met Open history.
