Frank Bensel (2007) – Meadowbrook

Heavy rains forced the cancellation of the first round, but the members at Meadow Brook were very gracious in allowing the MGA to use their course one additional day. Frank Bensel of Century birdied the final two holes to grab a one-stroke victory from four of the region’s most respected professionals.  Benefitting from experience gained playing in the U.S. Open at Oakmont earlier that season, Bensel shot three rounds of 69, rolled in a slippery, downhill putt of 12 feet to claim the victory.
